The pioneering initiative of the Jeddah Municipality (Amanat Jeddah) to deal with urban and environmental issues of the City, prompted the establishment of Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company (JDURC) as the investment arm of Jeddah Municipality. To address the environment and sustainable developments in the City, Jeddah Environment and Sustainable Development Company (JESDC) was established in 2014 as a Government Corporation fully owned by JDURC.
About the Company
The current task of JESDC is focusing on solid waste in Jeddah according to the Royal mandate on Municipal solid waste number (48/M) in 17/9/1434.
JESDC's interest in solid waste management involves waste collection, sorting, processing and waste disposal in a safe and environmental friendly manner. JESDC approach is to establish joint projects with the private sector to develop the natural environment and to help in accessing a healthy environment to the highest standards.
